THE AUDIO LINGUAL METHOD

 

CONCEPT

This method is based on the behaviorism theory more specifically in the use of negative and positive reinforcement, if you improve in your learning you´re going to get rewards but if you don’t, you will be punished.

ADVANTAGES

• This method focuses on the grammar rules. Also, the students are encouraged to use foreign languages and speak. Through teacher modeling, student learning pronunciation.

DISADVANTAGES

• It’s based on mechanical learning, and this means that it doesn’t make sense for the students, they just focus on complete the task because they have to do, not because they’re interested in learning.
